WOW! Has it really been that long?

Almost 4 years? Where does the time go?
I have still been crafting honestly and I have a stuffed craft room to prove it, lol. So can I remember how to write a blog post,  I'll give it a go.

For the past 6 months or so I have been getting excited about 2 new ( to me anyway) craft company's, Stamps By Me and Thirsty Brush Co.
For tonight I will just upload a few of my cards made with the SBM products.

Oops! Did I  overdo it just a bit?

Can I Come Up With Anything Crafty?

Well, it certainly has been a while...

I have still be dabbling in craft but did quite a stint in baking after realising that Jo Wheatley's recipes worked for me .
As this caused massive weight gain I have ditched the baking for a while, although I did buy a mini muffin tray the other week! :)

I am trying to get some kind of crafting mojo back, whether  I succeed or not remains to be seen. As usual my efforts good or bad will be posted...

Take care,

Having a Go at...

Jewellery making! Since seeing Jewellerymaker on tv I thought I would give it a go. I didn't make one single Christmas card this/ last year despite buying in stamps to do them (may get started on them this summer, lol).

This is my latest effort in making a jewellery set, beads used are Jade rounds, Sage amethyst nuggets and mystic quartz rounds.

Bye for now

Simon Says Stamp And Show - Numbers

Hi All

Sorry I haven't been getting around to your blogs to see all of your wonderful pieces. My computer has been down for the last couple of weeks and trying to get any time on the one downstairs is a real struggle between my daughters and husband I don't really stand a chance, lol.

So while everyone is otherwise engaged I just wanted to show my piece for Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge - Use Your Numbers.

I have this made this card using my TH stamp and die, TSS mould (Thanks Dan you made me think of this), a resin key I made and LLB paper.

Thanks for looking, apologies is I don't manage to make any comments before I get booted off here.

Simon Says Stamp And Show - Distressed/Sanded

Morning ! And HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my little brother Kern!
This is the card I am entering for SSSS challenge and it has more distress than you will know, mainly because I snipped my finger with my micro serated scissors instead of the ribbon... OUCH! That really hurts! (notice how I didn't go back to even the ribbon up).
My image is another homemade stamp using my stampmaker and another copyright free image. I used lots of distress inks to grubby up around the edges as well as THOSE scissors to roughen the edges too. I used K&Co brads cut in half for the corners of the topper and inked around the card with chalk ink.
Lol, I forgot to mention the distressed balloon, made in error, peel off balloon outline stuck to glitter vinyl and heat gunned.

Well that's it! Thanks for looking.

'Stamp' tember blog hop

What a great challenge this is... Simon Says stamp and Show have teamed up with Simon Says Stamp Challenge blog for a blog hop. The theme is holiday fun, you choose which holiday.
Mine is halloween i loved making this card, because the stamp i made myself with Teresa Collins stampmaker and a copyright free image. Cobwebs, I haven't drawn them since i was at high school. Also it involved slooshing lots of paint, ink and perfect pearls.
I'm off to blog hop now...

Simon Says Stamp and Show - Use Your layers Challenge

What a rush! My entry for the above challenge is not what I intended at all! BUT I didn't want to miss the challege altogether so here it is... Sadly the only layers I could manage were the butterflies and the flower. Can you see them? I hope so. Monochrome probably wasn't the best way to go with this.

Apologies to the terrific design team, your pieces were all fantastic.

Simon Says Stamp and Show - Anything Lord Tim of Holtz

Evening All
I have just uploaded my piece for this weeks SSSAS challenge which is to make something Tim Holtz inspired. I really loved how Tim used deep edged canvases to make a book (you can see it in his gallery www.timholtz.com).
So I decided to make a jewellery box, mind you it may only fit a few earrings in it the niche isn't very big. I had a great time making this, lots of perfect pearls, a key I made with resin and the grunge paper roses not to mention all the fab Tim Holtz fittings. those foundations box feet are gorgeous.

Simon Says Stamp and Show - Wendy Vecchi Style

hi
this is a very late entry to the SSSAS challenge. Infact it may be too late, so apologies for any spelling mistakes, missed words or gaffs like that.
My Wendy Vecchi inspired piece has some recycling involved again, this time with shoes (this is not a spelling error, I did say shoes!).
I salvaged some shoe soles from work, old samples that would otherwise be thrown away. So the dots, diamonds and crosshatched you see stamped here are all from shoes, btw so is the bird and cage made from leather.

I think I will have to leave it there and add my entry now.

Thanks for looking, if you get the chance.

Simon Says Stamp and Show - Things with Wings

Hiya!
Have you seen the first challenge over at Simon Says Stamp and Show? The theme is Things With Wings.
The piece I am entering started with a salvaged phototframe back, DH threw it away but I decided it might come in handy (isn't that always the case). I covered it with Claudine Hellmuth's sticky backed canvas, did quite a bit of stamping and used my TH diecuts for the centrepiece. I think it needs more but DH kept saying NO!No!no!
I used quite a lot of perfect pearls on this, especially on my TSS metal bird but it hasn't been caught by the camera very well, the butterfly is also covered in distress stickles.

Thanks for looking.

Gingersnap Creations GC65 Famous Painters/Paintings

I thought I would be brave and have a go at the above challenge from Gingersnap Creations. Since I don't have any famous painting stamps I got out my distress inks and had a bash at painting myself!
I really don't think LS Lowry has anything to worry about, lol. But.. it was fun to do.
To have a go yourself click on Gingersnap Creations in my challenge list.

Mojo150 Contest

Well Hello Again!

Tonight I made a card for Mojo Monday Contest Challenge.
Three cards this week, are you keeping count? I wouldn't, I don't think it will last much longer, lol.
So for this card I have used K&Co papers, Distress inks, an Inkadinkadoo text stamp that I bought last week (it was on sale though), a Joanna Sheen flower stamp, WRMK gromlets and a resin disc I made weeks ago and didn't use.
Phew! that was some list.

Did I mention trying not to buy any more stuff? But have you seen the Teresa Collins stamp maker kit? It was on QVC, I missed the show but can't help wondering....
Thanks for taking the time to pop over.

PWC - White And Bright

Can I keep it up I ask myself, that's two cards so far this week! It has meant I have virtually ignored everyone in the house though.
Anyway onto the Challenge from Papertake Weekly Challenge - we had to create a card with some white and at least one bright colour.
So this is my entry a black stamped image La Blanche i think with an added Tim Holtz chandalier (mmm... fancy light, you know what I mean). Coloured with fired brick distress ink, painted with a water brush. Simple matting and layering onto black gloss card and red velvet paper.

Done!

Papertake Weekly Challenge Sketch 45

Hi
The idea suddenly came to me, I shouldn't just buy crafting goodies, I should actually be using what I buy. So I am starting the week by taking part in the PWC which is sketch45.

I have used old and new in this card. The stamp I have had for a while and the K&Co papers too. The new is the border punch I bought last week and the ribbon I bought this week to make some flowers. I do honestly intend to craft more, but I keep getting sidetracked by more and more products coming out. Has anyone ever become homeless through crafting I wonder?

Thanks for looking.

Pic Not brill, But You Get The Idea

Hiya

just thought I would upload these pics of things I have made recently. As it says in the title the pics aren't brill but you get the idea. Hubby has bought a new camera because this one gave us so much grief, so future photo's will be better (she says).

This is my first book made with the WRMK Cinch, for DD teacher.

This card was made for other DD's boss at work.

And finally this last card was made for our neighbours little girl.

Just realise dthis last pic is with the new camera, lol.

CCT Challenge 110- Make Your Own

Hi
I'm posting in red today to match the card I made for CCT's challenge 110 Make Your Own. I have been buying some cutting dies recently and asked my hubby to find me materials that I could cut, he came back with something that had felt on one side and a patterned foam on the other. I inked a rectangle of the stuff up and stamped it onto card before using various distress inks around it.

To be honest i'm not sure what it is for but it does die cut brilliantly. I know you can't see much of it here but it does make a great background, no doubt you will see much more of this pattern on future cards. I topped my card using TH die heart n wings stamped with Paperartsy grunge flower stamp. Hope you like it!

Happy Birthday Leanne!!! - Sketch Saturday

Hasn't time flown?? And just to prove it my DD1 is 18 today! Welcome to the adult world Leanne.
Not wanting to embarrass her at all.... Well not much, I am entering her card on the Sketch Saturday blog.

I have been having a play with my new TH distress inks and stamps they are fab. But i'm afraid I have to say I think Leanne is the star in this card!

I printed off her piccy onto canvas for a bit of added texture, then happily inked and stamped all around her. I think it is sooo cute , Lol.

Happy Birthday Gordon - Mojo Monday Sketch

Well, what a time i've had trying to get this picture uploaded...

Stupid computer, stupid card reader, stupid me - probably.
This is my take on the Monday Mojo Sketch made for my DH's birthday.

The photo is a little dark but you get the idea, I used Tim Holtz's distress inks, rubber stamps, cog and spinner, cardstock stickers and corner (I really needed that corner, the elements were pretty weighty). Basic grey paper and whitewashed cardstock were used for the backing . I covered 2 wooden dominoes with canvas and the 3rd was painted, all three stamped and inked.

Thanx for looking.

Take care
