T!M's 12 Tags of Christmas, just in time for the New Year

Hi,
I haven't been a bad blogger honestly! I've just been busy and here's why.
I just wanted to upload my '12 tags of christmas', inspired by the fantastic Tim Holtz.
It was like a craft along with Tim, great fun!
Inky fingers all the way while I was making them I can tell you.
The photo's aren't brilliant but you get the idea.
So in no particular order, (or in other words because they wouldn't behave when I uploaded them onto the page) here are my 12 tags.

If I don't get back before (there is a takeaway calling my name!), enjoy your New Year's Eve and hopefully I will get time to blog again tomorrow.

2nd Post of the Day - Metal Madness!

A new fab website I found while trawling the net is TENSECONDSSTUDIO, if you havn't seen it before you should. It's all about metalizing your world, there are fantastic how to videos (which are hilarious) and a wealth of inspiration.

After watching loads of the videos I decided to give it a go, you know how I like to dabble. All of the items I metalized are from pound or charity shops.

This wire angel was just 30p.

This box frame was £1.49

Mmm... what else have I done, oh! yes my first project was a candle tin.

Phew! I think that's enough for today, hope to see you again soon.

Wow! Where Did All The Time Go???

Hi Folks,

I know it has been a while since my last post, mainly because of my bad time management. Or maybe it is the old age creeping up on me, Yikes!

But I have been lurking on craft blog/sites and bobbing in here and there, just not making much myself.

I did make an Anniversary card for my mum and dad way back in September, so here it is.

It must be old age, it's taken me half an hour to find the picture I uploaded.

More stuff to follow.

And Now For Something Completely Different..

Hi,

well I bet you are all wondering what this is all about...

Over the weekend I have been trying out something new, encaustic painting.

If this is new to you it's painting with hot waxes, either using a hot plate and pots of different coloured waxes or as I have been attempting using a mini iron to spread the wax over your canvas/card.

After googling to find out more, I bought some kit on ebay and here is what I did with it.

This piece was done following a tutorial from the Encaustic.com website. I feel abit like Rolf Harris here... Can you tell what it is yet?

It's a simple landscape, with a dodgy bird flying above (havn't got the hang of birds yet) lol.

After having a good play I wondered what they might look like in a frame. So...

This morning I got my DH to drop this landscape into one to see the effect. I just used plain white card cut on robo for the frame and a piece of K&Co paper behind that, I must say I am quite pleased with the look of it.

BTW as usual the cock-eyed photo was taken by me... Sorry about that.

Happy Birthday Al!!! Dotties World Challenge

Hi Folks,
it's my DD2's Birthday today! Happy birthday chicken!

The poor thing hasn't had a minute to herself, two school productions to perform in, in one day. Well at least she will be shattered tonight, lol.

Anyway, here is the card I made for her on behalf of her sister. I had the Dottie's World challenge in mind when I made it.

It was an idea of Juliet's brought to us by Louise...

"The summer bedding is looking so beautiful at the moment, so this week I would like you to look to your garden (or someone else's garden) for inspiration, be it using flowers on your card, using colours from your garden or it could be some garden wildlife or bug! As usual, use a Charmed download and let your imagination run riot."

This is mine...

Our garden seems to be shades of pinks and yellows at the moment.

The pink base card is a hammered finished cs, which I cut a swirly window out of with my robo. The yellow paper inside the card is K&Co Que Sera. The pixie is my download of course with added pearlidoodles, glitter and pearls.

2 in 1 - Dotties World & CCT Challenge 67

Hiya,
I'm beginning to ask myself if I will ever be glitter free again. Well, not for the foreseeable future, I am having too much fun with these Pixie Images. Having said that, here is my card for the two challenges above.

Dottie's World challenge set by Louise was Let The Sun Shine, so we had to use a sun or sunshine in/on the card.

Cute card Thursday wanted to see some stitching A Stitch in Time.

The base card I used was from a decoupage set from Ideal world, which once I received I didn't really like (i'm sure most of you have been there, done that!). I stitched over the design with bazzill cs and matted my topper on top.

Topper - CCC digital download,This pixie is Dreaming. Paper is from K&Co and every thing else is from my stash Pearlidoodles, Pixie dust, ribbon, flowers, thread.

Truly Scrumptious Challenge 10

What a lovely sketch Truly Scrumptious have given us to play with this week. Do you think it warrants another pixie? Of course it does! So, this time I have chosen Daisy, another beauty in the pixie world, available from Charmed Cards and Crafts (just in case you haven't got yours yet).

I have to admit I had a last minute disaster with this card. After colouring Daisy with my copics matting her onto cuttlebugged pearl card and Que Sera Sera Papers I used silicone to stick her on, it wasn't until I got the camera to take a pic I noticed the silicone had seeped through Arghhh! This has never happened before, so I had a bit of a mad panic and dowsed her with pixie dust. Not exactly how she was supposed to look but still beautiful I think.

I hope you all have a fab Friday.

Take care and TFL

Dottie's Sunday Challenge - Christmas!

Hiya,
well i'm sure you have guessed I am using another pixie for another challenge. For the Dottie's world Sunday challenge we were asked to make a Christmas card. After seeing Lou's gorgeous card I decided to use Holly myself and this is how my card turned out.

The holly wreath was from a free template by Dan - of My Crafty Life Blog, which I cut on robo using Bazzil Bling cs (used both ways for matt and bling effect). The paper behind Holly is a dovecraft christmas paper with a bit of laquer on the poinsettia flowers. The outer paper behind the wreath is a Basic grey - cupcake.

Although it's hard to see from the pic Holly also has some laquering on her wings and outfit. Ribbon and berries are from my stash. This card was great fun to do, I can see Holly being very popular this Christmas can't you?

Another pixie for Mojo Monday - Week 92

Hi folks,

I'm back again with another pixie/fairy card made from the Charmed download set, using the sketch on Mojo Monday's challenge.

This time I have used Forget-me-not as the card will be for my friend Anne who will be leaving work next Friday. I hope she likes it.

The papers are Dovecraft floral collection with a little glamour dust ( or should that be pixie dust) and yellow pearlidoodles added. The background paper that Forget me not is looking out of is a digi paper fron the digital scrapbook place. The sentiment is part of the charmed download set and the ribbon and butterfly is from my stash.

I think I will have to leave it there for tonight cos' my fingers seem to be typing there own letters, it's likely my brain has already gone to sleep Lol.

Night, night don't let the bed bugs bite.

Delightful downloads - Papertake Weekly Challenge

Hiya all,
have you got your Pixie download images from Charmed Cards and Crafts yet? I got mine early this morning and I couldn't wait to play. The images are just fantastic as are the sentiments to go with them. Well done, Lou and Karen you have come up trumps again!!!

So, without a challenge in mind (but now luckily it fits the bill for the Papertake Weekly challenge)I made a card from my new set (you will be spoilt for choice). This is Thistle...

I coloured her with copic markers, wc pencils, pearlidoodles (on the wings) and erm... glamour dust too.

My papers are LLB wild Rose cut with scalloped scissoors and an unknown sheet from my stash layered onto cream embossed paper. I made the flowers from oddments of paper layered up and pearlidoodled. The leaves were cut on my robo onto textured cs. Oh! and I dotted a bit of colour onto my lace with the copics too.

I hope you like her, have fun with yours.

Fathers Day / Charmed Challenge

Hi
this is a quick and late upload of my Fathers day cards, one of which is also from last weeks challenge over at Dotties World.
This card is my DH's from the girls.

George, is from CCC Bumper Christmas download set and as I was pushed for time I used the coloured image. The tools were cut on my robo using a template from the UKScrappers forum created by Sugar and Spice (thank you!). My backing paper is from K&Co's Que sera sera (just gorgeous). The circle sentiment is the fab work of Karen who kindly gave all CCC challengers free sentiments to use for these special cards (many, many thanks for that Karen!).

And my second quickie card is for my Dad. Again using Que sera sera paper (the same sheet as the card above), as the main image. Some times I think these papers are just too gorgeous to cover up, so I only added a little fisherman stamp, some ribbon and another of Karen's circle sentiments.

I hope all the fathers out there loved the cards they received and had a great day.

Mojo monday Challenge 89 - contest

Hiya!

Over at Mojo monday the challenge was another fab sketch to work with. This is my take on it.

I thought it would be good for my DD2's teacher, he has given her so much confidence this past year. I first had the idea to do a class of children, Lol but it was way too hard to get that many images masked and arranged.

Adorable Annie is in front, offering her gift with a Kars boy image and a Gorjuss girl stood at the back.

The whole card is a cut down A4 card so it is pretty big. Backed with some Basic grey paper, Bazzil bling CS cuttlebugged with swiss dots. As you can guess my mats and the apple were cut on my robo with a little ribbon to finish it off.

Hope he likes it...

Copic Challenge 16 & CCT Challenge 63

Hi Folks,
this is another two for one card challenge piece.
OOOOh! Have you ever worked on acetate?I love the look but OMG isn't hard to keep clean!

The Copic colour challenge asked us to use the colours RV11Pink, YO6Yellow and E39Leather. I didn't have the exact colours but used RV21,YO2 and YO8 with E35 for the leather.

The CCT challenge is nip and punch. you have to get your die cuts and punches out to use in your creation.
I don't have many of those so...I cut my own frame on the robo and matted it with some bazzil bling underneath.

As you can see I have used my Elegant Annie stamp (from Charmed cards and crafts), part of a Kars stamp for the swing seat and pearls for the ropes. The papers are K&Co wild raspberry with flowers and ribbon from my stash.

2 in 1 Copic Colour - Truly Scrumptious

Hiya,
here is another two challenges in one card.
The copic colour challenge was to use three colours in your creation, Cardinal, Pea green and Cool grey. The green is the only one of the three that I don't have so I used a mix of the ones I do.
Truly scrumptious asked us to make a card with more that one fold, that was fun to make but not to photograph after, Lol.
This is the best I could do....
The front of my card..

Lift the flap to see the adorable Annie stamped image.

Finally open the card to see the sentiment.

Coffee and Cream Dottie's World Challenge

Well this is my last card as guest designer on Dottie's World. It has been a fabulous experience, even though I was very, very nervous of doing it.
Can I just thank those of you who left such kind comments, they really are appreciated.
So,I hope you have enjoyed seeing what I came up with during this past month and if you are given the chance to become guest designer yourself Go For It!

Anywho, enough of my jabber!

The challenge this week is set by Karen.
The theme for this challenge is to use Coffee and cream on spots or stripes and of course, a Charmed download.
I think I may have got the lot on this card( if you use the term stripes loosely lol!).

Here it is....
The lovely Holly has been paper pieced(in a way, I printed my Holly then traced the bits I wanted in different paper). The shells were cut on my robo onto coffee and cream coloured cardstocks, then cut again using Basic Grey - Pods from the Archiac collection.
Enjoy!

Take care all, TFL

Love is in the Air

Hiya All!

What a beautiful day it is , I don't think there will be much crafting done today!

This is a card made for my DD1's friend. Apparently she always calls her other half Chicken and so wanted a card with this on it.

I hoping it isn't too girly, but I do think it's cute. Hope you do too!

The swirly jig was designed in inkscape and cut on Robo, the chick is from a colouring page off the net and the papers are K&Co.

Apologies for rushing but, you just have to make the most of the good weather when you get it don't you?

Have fun in the sun!!!

Dottie's World Challenge Buttons or Beads

Hi Everyone!
I bet you have all been enjoying the fun and games over at Dottie's World celebrating the 1st year birthday. All that candy to be won, it's fab, i'll certainly be keeping my fingers crossed.
Anyway on with the regular Sunday challenge...
This week the challenge from Adele is to incorporate any buttons or beads from your stash into your artwork to compliment one of the wonderful Charmed Downloads.

Here is mine...
The original idea was to cross stitch Holly and use my beads to decorate her dress and add to the shading, however it turned out I that the beads I had looked too big for that.
So, I made a shaker card instead.

I hope you enjoy having a go yourselves...

'Charmed' Sunday Challenge

This week's brilliant challenge has been set for us by Juliet, her theme was to create a card with an added Charm (it could be anything as long as it dangles!!) and a charmed download of course.

Here is my contribution...

..with the charm being the lucky coins dangling on the 'rope'.

Materials used:

Bazzil bling cs, black marble cs, my charm ( 2 'coins' cut on my robo from gold mirri card then cuttlebugged, threaded onto twisted x stich thread and tassel made from the same), a Chinese rubber stamp onto red mirri card. With the lovely Madison, coloured with copics and wc pencil.

The backing paper is actually the front cover of a new paper pack designed by Laurence Llewelyn Bowen, cos when I opened the pack the paper I thought would be great for this image isn't included. Duh! How dumb am I?

I really loved making this card, thanks for looking.

Mojo Monday Contest Week 85

Hi All,
it's a new sketch over on Mojo Monday this week. Again I have used one of my Annie stamps.

This is what I made from it.

I have used various papers and card for this in peach and pink tones including Brenda Pinnick and create and craft. The scallop edge was cut on my robo from peach marble card which doesn't seem to show here, lol.

The ribbon and pearls are just from my ever growing stash.

TFL, take care
